Unusual BDSM: Leeches

I'm sure many people reading this are horrified at the title alone, with good reason. Anyone who grew up in the country or has enjoyed swimming in nature has likely been warned about or personally traumatized by these blood-thirsty little creatures. We are taught to avoid them, be afraid of them, and even told horror stories about death & disease. I want to use that fear to My advantage.

I was told these same stories about leeches as a child who spent a significant amount of time in creeks, but when I was older I saw Speed 2: Cruise Control. In a scene that is obviously meant to disturb the viewer and paint a creepy picture of the film's villain, Willem Dafoe applies leeches to his chest while "O Mio Babbino Caro" plays hauntingly in the background. I was mesmerized by it, and have carried thoughts of that scene with Me through My adult life.

History class in school taught most people that leeches were used in medieval and colonial medicine to "purify" the blood when infection or illness was present, but I had no awareness of their use aside from that. After a lot of research, I found that leeches are still used for medicinal purposes in modern day across the globe. You can easily order sterile leeches for these purposes off a variety of sites. This filled My brain with possibilities! As far as BDSM uses, I have found many amateur fetish videos but only one website that mentions briefly the use of leeches for blood play. My fascination with them is not based around the blood aspect, although I do love blood play. The fear and disgust is what intrigues Me. I dream of restraining a willing victim to an exam chair and blindfolding them. Perhaps opera is playing in the background as a homage to the root of My kink. I hum along to it, not directly addressing My subject. They hear gloves snap, metal instruments, and feel fright and anticipation as I scrub their skin and apply gauze to chosen areas. As I attach each leech, they feel a strange, wet sensation but not much else. Leeches produce anesthetic so there is very little pain involved, but the feeling is unsettling. Once I've applied around a dozen in various places, including the most sensitive of spots, I remove the blindfold. They are forced to look at themself in the mirror on the ceiling, and see the writhing slimy creatures covering their body. I tell them I'm going to make them pure, from behind My surgical mask, and leave the room while the leeches do their job. There are just a few safety concerns when it comes to this type of scene. Sterile leeches need to be stored and washed properly before being applied to clean skin, to avoid infection. Leeches work by releasing anti-coagulants into their blood source, which continue to cause bleeding for a period of time after they are removed. Those who are already on blood thinners or have bleeding disorders are probably not suitable for this type of play. The wounds need to be kept clean and properly cared for after the scene. The leeches must be properly destroyed after use as they could potentially spread disease if they are allowed to attach to anyone or anything else after feeding. These are all reasonable and manageable risks equal to many other types of medical and edge play in the BDSM world.

I am still eagerly awaiting My first victim for this type of play, but I have no doubts that My fantasy will be indulged one day by an eager and open-minded plaything.
